Yesterday, the Culture Secretary launched the UK Digital Strategy, aiming to create an environment that makes the UK the best place in the world to start and grow a digital business.

Partnerships under the scheme aim to:
  • Spark growth in the digital economy through innovation
  • Teach adults digital skills to help them thrive in a digital economy
  • Create international tech hubs in emerging markets
  • Invest in infrastructure so that fast, reliable broadband is widely available

This is all very good news for those of us already working in digital health: with the prospect of increased digital literacy widening the audience who can benefit from digital health interventions; the creation of an environment that supports digital innovation and makes it more accessible; and wider opportunities for collaboration on research and development world-wide.

Further details are available in the press release on the .gov.uk website.
